Ocular Health

For children, it is crucial that they start to have eye tests from a very early age. It is important that children are tested on a regular basis as their eyes can change very quickly as they grow.

It is vital to have a regular eye examination to ensure that your eyes remain healthy. An eye examination could also detect other health issues which may need to be investigated by your doctor such as high blood pressure or diabetes.

Usually, you should have an eye test every two years. If you are diabetic you are entitled to a free eye test every year. If you notice any changes in your vision or have any concerns you should always contact your optician for advice, even if you are not due your eye test.

If eye problems are detected early in children they can usually be corrected very well. If you notice any problems with your baby’s/ child’s eyes you should contact your optician for advice.
