There is a huge selection of lenses on the market at the moment which can correct your vision. Our experienced staff will help to guide you and recommend what they think is most appropriate for you.

We deal with highly reputable companies such as Essilor and Hoya to ensure all our lenses are of the highest quality. We are also a listed Essilor Varilux specialist. Below is a little bit of information about a few of the types of lenses we offer.

Bifocals

Bifocal lenses have two optical corrections with a dividing line between. The most common use of bifocals is for people who now need a different prescription for close work. The upper part of the lens corrects distance vision and the lower half is for near vision. You may have some difficulties with intermediate vision.

Varifocals

Varifocal lenses have no visible dividing lines between the different corrections for distance, intermediate and near. Instead, the power of the lens progresses smoothly from one prescription to the other. These lenses also have the benefit of a better cosmetic appearance.

High-index

If you need high powered lenses, a high-index lens can reduce the thickness and weight of your lenses making them much more comfortable to wear. It can also significantly improve the appearance of your lenses.

Multi-coated lenses

Multi-coated lenses incorporate a combination of anti-reflection, scratch-resistant and water repellent coatings. The anti-reflection coating helps to reduce reflections from the lens surface which can reduce glare when driving or using a computer. It can also improve the cosmetic appearance of your lenses. A scratch-resistant coating helps to protect the surface of your lens from fine scratches and can prolong lens life.
